· how to delete in the app
- Open the app and sign in (if you're not already).
- Tap your handle in the top-left of the home screen (the small blue avatar circle) — this opens your profile.
- Scroll to the bottom → tap edit profile / settings.
- Scroll to the very bottom of Settings → tap delete account.
- Read the confirmation dialog, then tap delete forever.
- You're signed out. Account deletion runs server-side immediately.
· what gets deleted
One tap, all of it, hard-deleted — no backups, no soft-delete, no anonymous archive:
- your handle, city, status, gender
- every pulse you wrote (and every reply or reaction under it)
- every reply you wrote on other cockroaches' pulses
- every reaction you tapped on any pulse
- your activity inbox
- your push notification token
- your block list
- your rate-limit counters
- your Firebase Auth account (the sign-in itself is removed)
· what is kept
Nothing tied to your identity. To be fully transparent, the following technical residue may exist:
- Aggregate feelings on the map. When you tapped "drop a feeling", a single anonymous count was added to a ~5km geohash cell. That count is not tied to you (we never wrote your uid on it). It cannot be removed individually because there is no identity attached to delete.
- Aggregate post counts. A counter recorded that a pulse was posted in your city. The counter has no link to you.
We do not store a hash of your phone number, your Google account, or any other identifier to track you across deletes. You can sign in again later with the same Google account — it will be a fresh start with a new handle.
· delete without uninstalling the app?
Yes — the steps above run a server-side delete. You don't need to uninstall the app. You can re-install and sign in fresh later.
· deletion timeline
The destructive Cloud Function runs synchronously the moment you tap delete forever. It typically completes in under 2 seconds. No 14-day or 30-day grace period — deletion is immediate.

If for any reason you cannot complete the in-app flow (lost phone, locked out, etc.), email us with the Google account you used to sign in and we will delete it manually within 7 days:
